Pool Closure Information (2019)

April 26, 2019

Curtis Aquatic Center Patrons –

The Curtis Aquatics Center is currently in need of extensive maintenance and repair. Unfortunately, this work will require an extended pool closure beginning on May 26, 2019. The closure will require all outside user and community programs to be canceled beginning on May 26, 2019 and during the months of June, July and August.

During the closure, the pool will be drained and work will be completed to install new plaster, fix broken tiles, replace sealant in construction joints and replace several starting blocks. We plan to reopen the pool in mid-August in advance of our fall athletics season and we are hopeful that work will be completed within our planned time frame. However, projects of this nature can be unpredictable. As a precaution, we will be making contingency plans for swim classes and athletics in the event the project extends beyond August, 2019. The pool will not be reopened to outside users or community programs until a later date in the fall. We will keep you updated on our tentative dates for re-opening as soon as we have more information.

There are a number of pools in the area that are available to the public. Please see the information below for more details on public pools available in our region.
