The Curtis Aquatic Center now offers a basic water polo introductory course. Classes are grouped into sessions that include seven half hour lessons. Refer to the information below for more details. If you have any questions, please contact the pool at (253)566-5725 or e-mail [email protected]
Class Information
School Year 2019-20
Introductory Water polo lessons will be taught primarily on Tuesday evenings. We will offer several separate seven night sessions throughout the 2019-2020 school year. There will be only ONE class time offered per session. The water polo class is open to athletes who have completed through level 6 of our swim lesson program or have reached the pre-requirements listed below. Class sessions, times and dates are all listed below.

- All parents/guardians must sign a medical/liability waiver on the registration date. Forms must be signed BEFORE your child can enter the pool.

Water Polo Class Pre-requirements:
- 40 yards sufficient crawlstroke
- 40 yards sufficient backstroke
- Tread water with eggbeater kick for 30 seconds
- Survival float for two minutes and roll to back and float for 30 seconds
Each athlete will be given a pre-test on the first night of class to ensure the requirements are met. If your athlete does not meet the necessary requirements, they can be transferred into the proper swim lesson level to complete the requirements (no additional costs will be added). Final placement is always determined by Curtis Aquatic Center staff.
Class Registration
Pre-Registration-Available to parents of students enrolled in the most recent swim lesson session/water polo course.
Open Registration-Available to the general public.
- The water polo course has a maximum capacity and if reached may become unavailable at any time during the registration period. Registration is based on a first come first serve basis.

WINTER SESSION II
Lesson Dates:
February 18th, 25th, March 3rd, 10th, 6th, and 7th
SPRING SESSION
Pre-Registration: Wednesday, April 1st.
- Pre-registration will open at 5:00p, both in-person and online.
- Pre-registration will close in-person & online (Levels 4+) at 8:30p.
Open Registration: Friday, April 3rd.
- Open registration will occur only in-person at the pool, beginning at 5:00p.

April 14th, 21st, 28th, May 5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th
